Our 1 day wine tours give guests already visiting or planning to visit our wonderful region of Aquitaine - the great vineyards of Bordeaux, the Medoc, St Emilion, Duras and Bergerac - wine memories to cherish. From the aromas of wine in a private oak barrel store to a joke shared with a passionate winemaker, we assure that your tour will leave you wanting to come back for more. All our tours can be booked for any day of the week. For weekend and bank holiday bookings there is a 30% supplement. These tours are semi private: they are exclusive, small group tours. Structure /timing of our One Day Wine-Tasting Tours
All tours, except St Emilion and Medoc, start at Château Haut Garrigue in South West France, 1 hour from Bordeaux, 15 minutes from Bergerac, 50 minutes from Libourne TGV station. It is very easy to reach Chateau Haut Garrigue (Gardonne Station) and St Emilion by train from Bordeaux city and Caroline will meet you at the station.

This wine tour includes a gourmet wine and food pairing lunch and is available all year round. This is typically an organic wine tour since the best estates in our region are organic. Reservation is required but tours can be booked just a few days in advance.

We won't taste champagne on this tour but you may taste a Cremant de Bordeaux or a Methode Traditionelle (made in the traditional champagne method) style wine.
St Emilion Wine Tour: €169.00 per person including visiting 2 grand cru classé vineyards, the village of St Emilion and lunch in St Emilion
Discover the St Emilion that most tourists miss. Climb the King's Tower or the Church Bell Tower for the most awesome views, visit the cloisters, visit the magnificent underground caves of a grand cru classé. Taste the magnificent 2010 vintage of a grand cru classé direct from the barrel*.

Medoc Wine Tour Adventure: €299.00 per person including lunch and two visits to Grand Cru Classé estates in the Medoc

In the Medoc doing your research and making your bookings in advance makes all the difference. Having Caroline organise your itinerary and translate for you will offer you a day out that is far more fulfilling than being part of a tour bus operators daily grind.

Discover the magnificent organic vineyards of Saussignac. View the rare orchids and other miracles of biodiversity that can be found where winemakers take pride in their terroir. Fifty percent of the Saussignac syndicat producers are organic or in conversion compared to 2% average in France!

Are you staying in Bordeaux city but keen to experience the vineyards of Aquitaine? Join Caroline for a morning discovering the great wines of Aquitaine - Bordeaux and Bergerac - on a working vineyard, enjoy a winemaker's lunch with us then catch the train to St Emilion to spend the afternoon exploring it's treasures.
We suggest you catch the 8am train from Gare St Jean Bordeaux to Gare de Gardonne where Caroline will meet you at 9am. (if you are holidaying in the Dordogne you can also catch the train from Sarlat or anywhere else on the train line).
Explore the wines of France with a particular focus on Bordeaux and Bergerac (see the the Essential Wine Workshop for details of the core areas we will cover).

We offer you tips on which St Emilion grand cru estate to visit on your self-guided tour, give you a suggested itinerary and a map then return you to the train station in Gardonne where you can catch the 1.50pm train to St Emilion.
At the end of your afternoon in St Emilion you can catch the train back to Bordeaux.

10am Arrival at Chateau Haut Garrigue or at an agreed place in St Emilion or the Medoc
10.30 A vineyard walk followed by an introduction to wine-tasting and guided tasting of the range at at our first estate

14.00 A winery tour followed by wine-tasting at our second estate
16.00 Return to Chateau Haut Garrigue
